So What Does An Agent Really Do Anyway?
with Alex Adsett

In this workshop packed full of behind the scenes insight about the publishing industry, literary agent Alex Adsett will give you an overview of what literary agents do for authors, including if and when you might need one, how to spot a dodgy one, and what they should get paid. She’ll look at some ways to find the right agent or publisher for you, and how to approach them.

Alex will also demystify the pitching process outlining the different kind of pitches – verbal, written, and accidental as well as expectations around how and when to pitch. There will be an exploration of the “dos and don’ts including horror stories from the trenches, and the gold star examples of great pitches.

This is an informal look into the obscurity of publishing with some tips and tricks on how to make you and your manuscript stand out.
