Our 10 top things to have at your Indie Author Marketplace table

  1. Your book! We’re not kidding! In 2019 we had around 130 people attend CCWF, this year those numbers are expected to double! Make sure you’ve got enough books!
  2. Signing pens – Bring that favourite pen you use to sign your name into history and the hearts of your readers.
  3. Posters – A good size, easy to read from across the room poster will attract book buyers. Or maybe you have a banner, or tabletop poster stand? Find a marketing tool to let your book shine.
  4. Price sign – make sure you have a clear easy to read price sign for your book. And let buyers know how they can pay: cash or card or both.
  5. Payment gadget and credit card/payments accepted sign – You’ll need a device to process credit card payments. Don’t forget your square or your mobile device. If you accept cash you’ll need change.
  6. Bookmarks and giveaways – Do you have bookmarks, flyers or information sheets? Readers love to take home something free with their purchase.
  7. Bookstand – Let people see your books from across the room, invest in a small stand that lifts your book off the table and faces out into the room.
  8. Rubbish bags – Bring a couple, you never know when you’ll need them.
Make sure you keep your table clean and looking great. Try not to load it up with food and drinks.

Most of all there’s one very important thing to remember, don’t forget to have fun! This is your time to shine, network and meet lots of great readers.

Take loads of pictures and post on your website and social media and don’t forget to tag #CCWF2021 and #visitcapricorn #southerngreatbarrierreef so we can share the love! Good luck!
